Christine’s Testimony

I was raised in a Christian home, and "think" I may have been saved at age 6, but when I was at our C & MA church camp at age 10, (Delta Lake, Rome, NY ), I wanted to make SURE I belonged to Jesus, that if I were to die that night, I would go to Heaven. With my camp counselor, I got on my knees and confessed my sinful nature and need of a Savior. I asked Jesus Christ to be my Savior and Lord, and turned my life over to Him. A year later I was baptized in Delta Lake.

I attended Toccoa Falls Academy, Georgia, a Christian boarding high school, and studied at Northeastern Bible College for 2 1/2 years. Though I grew in my walk with the Lord, I also fell into sin for a time - but in God's grace and mercy, He didn't let me stay in the pit for long, but rescued me and set my feet back on solid ground. Since my early adult years, I have been steadily reaching for the goal of holiness and a righteous life, sharing the Gospel in my concerts along with my testimony. I love the Lord with all my heart, and seek every day to serve Him, lift up His name, and give Him the glory in everything.

I have a godly husband, whose passion is teaching creation vs. evolution, and who is a professor at The Master's College, Santa Clarita, CA. Our 4 children are grown and married, and each are walking with the Lord with their spouses - and they are in the process of raising eight children (seven boys, one girl), for Christ. My motto is:

“Excellence in all things, and all things to God’s glory!”

Christine’s Handbell Story

When bells were purchased in 1972 at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Ft. Lauderdale, 11 of us from the choir were selected to form the first handbell choir. None of us knew a thing about bells, so we all learned together, helped along by Don Allured, Dan Hermany, and other clinicians. After 5 years of enjoyable ringing, I decided to return to college (Florida Atlantic University)to complete my music degree as a voice major. In lieu of a senior vocal recital, I wrote a thesis on “The History and Practice of the English Handbell”, and produced a video called “Voices in Bronze”, featuring the handbell choir I both rang in and helped to conduct. At the time of the taping, Dan Miller filled in for an absentee ringer, and rang a solo. I was astonished –I didn't know handbell ringing was anything but a group sport. My second thought was, "I wonder if I could do that?"

After experimenting alone before bell practice, I discovered my gift - at age 30. Eventually I became a sales representative for Schulmerich handbells, and then Malmark, taking the art of handbell ringing to churches and schools through workshops and solo ringing.

Since very little music was available in 1981 for solo handbells, I wrote and choreographed my own arrangements, with the help of outstanding piano composers. My first book, “Songs For The Solo Ringer”. Was published in 1987 with Hope Publishing Company. Several publishers have now produced over 85 of my arrangements, 3 CDs, 2 cassettes, 4 videos, and 1 DVD.

If you haven't been to one of Christine Anderson's spectacular concerts, you haven't heard the true sound of handbells at their best. If you have been to one of her concerts, and listened to her sweet voice, you were able to detect that she spends much time with Jesus. It's as if Christine's concerts lift us up to the Heavenly Kingdom with the glorious music she plays, and the stimulating spiritual encouragement she gives. Her concerts are like none other, because Christine is like none other. Clearly, her giftedness is "from Him and through Him and to Him...to Him be the glory forever! (Romans 11:36)

You have to see it to believe it!”, was the response to Christine Anderson’s solo performance in our Gala Concert. Her sparkling performances, energetic personality and experience and knowledge in handbells make her not only an excellent performer, but an enthusiastic and patient teacher as well. Add to this her sincere love for Christ and experience in Church Music. I would highly encourage you to make her a part of your next concert or workshop.
